Quotation taken from the Bob Wilson's website:
Bob Wilson's Funfairs are Europe's leading Funfair and Event Organiser. With a reputation second to none, the funfair rides regularly attend the most famous and prestigious funfairs across the UK. Including Nottingham Goose fair, Hull fair, Oxford St Giles fair, Stratford & Abingdon Mop fairs, London's Hyde Park Fair and London's Leicester Square Christmas funfair
Everyone in Redditch knew the Wilsons. Tom Wilson and Norman were good friends and grew up together therefore little wonder that Norman would include the family somewhere in his repertoire
We're not too sure of the significance of the scene but Norman just titled it "Wilsons"
Many years after this work, in the late 1990's, Norman painted a fairground scene showing a traditional merry-go-round which he gave to Tom Wilson, in exchange Tom gave Norman a lifetime ticket to his rides
At the age of 80, fairground rides were probably not on Norman's mind but he was so thrilled with Tommy's gift that he painted the fairground ride again and had the ticket mounted in the same mount as the painting which hung in his lounge until his death in 2010
