33 Impassive Gardener by Drawings by Norman Neasom (1915 - 2010)

The Impassive Gardner
Pencil Drawing - Signed
Image Area: 11ins x 10ins
One of Norman's humourous subjects although the reason for the drawing is unknown. Some one who doesn't seem to react in the conversation of life can be described as impassive
The drawing shows the 'Impassive Gardener' carrying on digging whilst the pilot climbing from his aeroplane looks on rather perplexed at the lack of attention his crash has caused
This small drawing is very detailed and shows all the structural spars in the wings where the canvas has been torn away, the horse in the field charging away from the incident and the pilot's face has a scornful look as though it wasn't his fault
Unfortunately as with many of Norman's compositions, we will never know and can only surmise the reason for the work
