Romantic Encounters

Norman was a romantic at heart which is reflected in some of the works in this section. He always said his feelings could be better expressed in drawings rather than paintings.

The drawing of the Falling Star shows how Norman treated passion and in many of the works a couple can be sen walking together in the background, such as in the Bathing Girls or the 'Comments on Life'.

The drawings in the War and Conflict section show how he felt at the time and draws the viewer into the situation.

In Norman's own words he said: "If I don't feel it - I don't draw it"
