The Hall Green Stadium was a speedway track until it closed in 1938. The track was the home of the Birmingham Bulldogs.
Norman visited the track on a few occasions. This is another style of Norman's work when he used pastels and the only known work in this medium. He always said that Pastels were too unstable and he didn't like sing them so it is no surprise not many of them survived
