Hoo Mill is on the River Alne in the Parish of Haselor, just beyond Alcester (see painting of Hoo Mill). The drawing is probably a preparatory drawing to the painting in this on-line exhibition as Norman visited Hoo Mill on many occasions to make sketches.
Albert Stewart who lived at Hoo Mill was quite a character. Albert was a solitary man who was very much against change and all things modern, he did not have mains electricity but he enjoyed the company of those with a passion for the countryside and would make them welcome with a mug of his home-made scrumpy.
Albert has now passed on but came to see the collection of Norman's drawings and paintings, including those of Hoo Mill.
